The ALUMINIUM Business Summit is just around the corner
On September 28 and 29, the time has come: The two-day ALUMINIUM Business Summit in Düsseldorf will start! Mobility, sustainability, digitalization, and market developments are the focus of the industry event under the title "Shaping a new Industrial Era".
ALUMINIUM, Aluminium Deutschland, CRU Group and European Aluminium have joined forces for the new hybrid format. And recruited some of the most relevant and exciting speakers on the topic for presentations and panel discussions. Some of the highlights from the two-day program:
Blanka Lenczowski from Airbus Defence and Space will shed light on the topics of sustainability and lightweight construction from an aerospace perspective. There is, Lenczowski says, a range of opportunities that can help drive aviation towards the technology, energy system and operational measures. She will explain what those are in Düsseldorf.
AI specialist Jonas Moßler, founder of SUSI&James, explains his vision of the automated company of the future and brings examples of the use of "digital employees." That the regular participant in philosophical disputes will also discuss the topic of artificial intelligence on a non-technological level may be expected.
Achenbach CEO André E. Barten will devote his keynote to digital solutions in the battery industry. And he explains why, in his view, the terms Lean, Green & Digital are only different facets of the same topic – and must therefore also be considered together.
Ross Strachan, Senior Analyst Aluminum at CRU Group, talks about the "emission era". In his keynote, he talks about why this new world is prevailing and what implications this has on primary aluminum production, market balance and trade flows.
Logistics specialist Bart van Gils (The Agency) will address the current situation of supply chains, specifically detailing the implications for all just-in-time models that have been introduced in industries around the world, including the metals business and the aluminum industry in particular.
How the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will affect the aluminum industry is the topic of consultant Ken Ash. Is there a risk that CBAMs will be seen as a form of "green protectionism" and a lever for other country climate commitments, or simply ineffective in improving climate outcomes?
A total of 20 presentations and a prominent panel discussion await visitors to the ALUMINIUM Business Summit. With the new hybrid format, attendees have a choice: either attend the networking event live in Düsseldorf or follow the keynotes, panel discussions and interviews digitally.
