ALUMINIUM 2026 Launches New Innovation Awards to Spotlight Industry Breakthroughs
Bar ohne Namen
ALUMINIUM 2026 has announced the launch of the ALUMINIUM Innovation Awards, a new initiative created in partnership with International Aluminium Journal to recognise and celebrate pioneering achievements across the global aluminium sector.
The awards will highlight standout innovations in three key categories: Sustainable & Low-Carbon Manufacturing, Technology & Product Innovation, and Smart Manufacturing, Automation & Connectivity. Together, the categories reflect the industry’s drive to reduce environmental impact, unlock new applications and performance capabilities, and enhance operational efficiency through digitalisation and connected systems.
Patrick Herman, Event Director of ALUMINIUM at RX, described innovation as “the heartbeat of our industry,” adding that the awards aim not only to celebrate achievement but to make breakthroughs visible and transferable across the sector. By showcasing cutting-edge solutions, organisers hope to inspire further progress and raise standards industry-wide.
Exhibitors at ALUMINIUM 2026 will be invited to submit entries from May, with the wider industry community voting on shortlisted innovations in September. Winners will be announced during a dedicated awards ceremony at the event and presented to a global audience of senior decision-makers.
The awards are open to implemented solutions, pilot projects, prototypes or validated innovations brought to market within the past 48 months.
Organisers say the ultimate goal is to reward companies driving meaningful change while shining a spotlight on the ideas shaping the future of the aluminium industry. “Our goal: make innovation visible – but above all, reward companies for their efforts! When the best ideas are recognised on a stage like this, they raise the bar across the industry – and draw the attention of policymakers, which is vital for shaping the future of our sector”, concludes Patrick Herman.
