Sustainable aluminium façade: Senckenberg Tower saves more than 2,600 tonnes of CO2 during construction

02 April 2021

The façade of the 106-metre-high office tower consists of 95 % aluminium - and three quarters of that is made from recycled aluminium. This saves emissions.

The use of recycled aluminium in the production of the "Hydro CIRCAL 75R" façade elements saves large amounts of CO2 and reduces the overall carbon footprint of the project: in total, the use of the recycled metal in the Senckenberg Tower saves more than 2,600 tonnes of CO2.

With the development of the Senckenberg Tower office project, BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Development aims to set new standards in sustainability. Façade installation began at the end of 2020. Work is expected to be completed in May 2021, with completion of the entire office tower scheduled for the end of 2021. Upon completion, it will be the tallest building in Germany built with sustainable aluminium to date.
