Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI), Ranshofen, is continuing the dynamic course of recent years and investing 100 million euros in the further development of the group of companies. With two new extrusion lines including machining centers as well as the construction of a logistics center, the course is being set for the future.

After a 60 MN extrusion line has already been installed at the Ranshofen site this year, investments will be made in 2023 in a further highly automated 60 MN extrusion press with all upstream and downstream production facilities on an area of around 8,000 m². The HAI Group is developing into a technology leader for aluminium components for the transportation sector at the Ranshofen site. In particular, lightweight components for e-mobility are increasingly in demand. The new plant produces highly complex aluminium profiles with outstanding crash properties for all well-known OEMs in Europe.

Investments are also being made in a highly automated extrusion line with the associated infrastructure at the Romanian site in Cris, significantly expanding production capacity. In Cris, production is designed for high-quality products for the solar, construction and industrial sectors. "The new plant will open up urgently needed capacity to be able to accompany customers in their growth in the coming years with an already very high capacity utilization," summarizes Rob van Gils, CEO of the HAI Group. Since the site was acquired in 2019, the team has almost doubled in size, with a current headcount of nearly 400.

The current logistics area in Ranshofen is bursting at the seams. A 14,000 m² state-of-the-art logistics center will therefore be created at the site as early as the beginning of 2023, with a hall, warehouse and loading area. In the loading area, several trucks can be loaded and unloaded in parallel. For customer load carriers, a high-bay warehouse is available for automatic storage and retrieval. A photovoltaic system with an output of 1 MW peak will be installed on the roof of the new property.

"With the new investments, as well as the recent investments at our company locations, we as the HAI Group are optimally positioned to continue growing with our customers from the transport, industry and construction sectors," says van Gils, explaining the direction for the coming years.
