Vollert: The trend towards automation continues

Bar ohne Namen

Lars Strobel, Head of Sales, Vollert Anlagenbau about ALUMINIUM 2024

For us, ALUMINIUM is the leading trade fair that brings together all industry participants from all over the world in one place. We are therefore looking forward to meeting and exchanging ideas with our existing and new customers worldwide. And the conditions for the industry are good: projects are in place and investments are continuing. The trend towards automation continues unabated - in Europe and Asia, but recently also in the USA. The advantages in terms of quality and the shortage of skilled workers are obvious.

This year, we at Vollert are focusing on automated coil handling - in all its dimensions. We will be presenting solutions ranging from automated area storage to high-bay warehouses for coils from 5 to 35 tons. As a special feature, we will also be showing a multifunctional coil shuttle with the functions of turning, moving, lifting and lining up various coils on a cantilever arm live at the stand for the first time at a trade fair - a real all-rounder. It sorts different batches in one storage location with defined distances between the coils for optimum storage allocation.

Another important aspect of automation is the increase in safety for employees. Forklift operation and the handling of manual cranes simply always harbor potential dangers. This is also a reason for many of our customers to automate. With our intralogistics systems for the aluminum industry, we help to overcome these challenges in the sector.
